Amazing Brother

Joshua is my younger brother.  He is 14-years-old and is the sweetest brother anyone could ask for.  Also he is very talented.  He has taken up drawing as one of his favorite things and he recently started taking art lessons on Mondays.  He started lessons about a month or two ago and he has really progressed and is an absolutely great artist now getting better with every picture.  Here is some of his work.

Here are some eyes that he has drawn.  He took a picture of the last eye with his Nintendo DSi and posted it on a game website and lots of people have liked and commented on it. 🙂

This picture, which I’ve posted before, is from when he first started drawing lessons.

Look at how much he’s improved!  (I am just a bit flabbergasted by his drawing abilities…he is definitely better then I am!)

He made this girl up.  He thinks up all of his pictures from mere figments of his imagination.  His head is full of new ideas and he is so good at getting them out onto paper!

This is one of my favorite pictures he’s drawn so far!

He drew this girl yesterday.  Gotta love the hair!

Manga and Anime art is one of the funnest ways to draw!  Josh usually draws Anime type characters.

Here are two characters from a show called “Sergeant Frog”.  (I’ve never watched it, but some of my siblings like it)

Kululu and Giroro (I thought those pics were cool).

Below I am going to post pictures of some penciled sketches he’s done in his class and at home.  His practice sheets.

(Feet are such a PAIN to draw!  For most people…*cough cough*)

The picture below is very beautiful.  Even though it’s not finished yet and it doesn’t have a face, I like it. 🙂

Well, sadly, those are all the pictures I have right now, but don’t cry…

There will be plenty more!

I love you Joshua and I am so proud to be your sister!  You are so talented and I hope to learn a lot from you and your talent.

~Jenny age 11, Josh age 9~

Have a glorious rest of the week!  Much love and many blessings.

My Typewriter

So, I have decided to introduce you, blog, to my dear old 1950’s typewriter!

Typerwriter, blog.  Blog, typewriter.

My dear sister, Bess, bought this for me as a Christmas gift from an antique store.

It is a 1950’s Royal, and it’s a faded bluish-green color, and it came with it’s case and a key to lock it up and keep it safe.

Bess cleaned it up a ton!  She said that most of the keys had mold on them and it didn’t look too great at first, but it is beautiful now!

It types very well and the weight of the keys is great!

I think it used to be able to white out your mistakes, but I don’t know how to refill/replace it or how that works exactly… if I mess up I either x it out or start over on a clean sheet of paper.

Last year I took pictures of my typewriter to post about it and I never did, so when I looked at those older pics today I decided to re-take them because they were quite, shall we say, bad quality!  Here’s one of the pics compared to a new one that I took.

I’m glad that I redid them. 🙂

Also, this past Saturday I went to a Fall Festival held by someone at our church.  It was a lot of fun and it was a beautiful day for a festival!  I didn’t have my camera out the whole time, just towards the end, so here are a few pictures.

It was very lovely acreage.  She owns 34 acres!

Yes, more moon!  First was taken before the sun set all the way, and the other was obviously taken when the moon and stars took over the sky.

The fire was big, bright, beautiful, and very warm. 🙂

The embers were marvelous!  They looked like jewels sparkling and glowing in a mine.

The stars were amazing–I could have lay back and looked at them all night (sadly they didn’t show up on the camera).  Apparently there was a meteor shower that night too!  I missed it.  *sigh*

One more thing…we got pumpkins!

We always get pumpkins to carve in the fall.  I haven’t taken any pictures of our pumpkins yet, so I’ll probably post some pics of them once we carve them.

Well, that’s all I have to share for today.  Much love, and God bless.

October Pictures

I have loaded a bunch of pictures onto the computer from my camera so now I’m going to post them!  Enjoy this picture post. 🙂

Here’s a spooky September moon!

Another moon shoot…the moon is probably the most amazing thing to take a picture of and my new “favorite thing” to take a picture of! 🙂

I bought these two bracelets at an accessory store a few weeks ago.  Aren’t they pretty?  They were only $10!

Pumpkin Doughnuts!!

Some beautiful little flowers that are now died, but still on my desk…

This picture of the King and Queen towers was taken when I first met my nephew. 😉

My candle.

Some very weird looking bugs…I thought they were going to jump on me because they kept crawling closer and closer…blah!

Ah ha!  A picture of the front of the chicken house! 🙂

Clay Kitty

This is a picture of our crape myrtle tree with all of it’s seed pods.

Some delicious and beautiful bread that Skylar made!

Speaking of bread…I made bread this past weekend and look at how it turned out!

Pretty nice, huh?!  (Sorry for the not-so-great picture!  It was taken on my phone)

Titus came for a visit!  Well, he’s come over a few times since these pictures were taken.

Here he is all bundled and ready to go!

Oh yeah…it was also my sister, Sylvie’s, birthday in September!

Look at her cool cake!

These were the layers,

Layers all stacked with raspberry frosting,

and here’s the finished cake! 🙂  (Compliments to Skylar Barger for making it)

This was taken today.  I had a nice, tall, cup of hot chocolate with quite a LOT of marshmallows!  It was satisfying. 🙂

Below or a few of the pictures from the other day that I took of a robin.  I think he got in a cat fight because the left side of his face looks a little funny.

Okay…that’s enough bird(s)! 😛  He was pretty though.

This moon picture was taken the other morning at 5AM…I woke up and took this while I was half asleep and then I went back to bed!

Lets end with some funny faces…

Ha ha!

That’s all I have for right now!  God bless and have a wonderful October week!

Beautiful Day

Jesus Calling

Beware of seeing yourself through other people’s eyes. There are several dangers to this practice. First of all, it is nearly impossible to discern what others actually think of you. Moreover, their views of you are variable: subject to each viewer’s spiritual, emotional, and physical condition. The major problem with letting others define you is that it borders on idolatry. Your concern to please others dampens your desire to please Me, your Creator.

It is much more real to see yourself through My eyes. My gaze upon you is steady and sure, untainted by sin. Through My eyes you can see yourself as one who is deeply, eternally loved. Rest in My loving gaze, and you will receive deep Peace. Respond to My loving Presence by worshiping Me in spirit and in truth.

Hebrews 11:6; John 4:23-24

Today has been a beautiful day!  The weather was windy and cool and the sunshine was warm in the slightly chilly breeze.  I have been outside almost all day today.  Absolutely lovely.

(Spider Webs in a tree)

The devotional for today from the book Jesus Calling by Sarah Young was really good.  I liked what it said, so I am sharing it!

(Clover Flower)

I took some picture of a robin the other day who came and sat in a tree in the front yard.  Surprisingly he sat there for a LONG time while I crept up on him and took a bunch of pictures.  Once I load them on the computer I will share those pictures with you, blog.

The Sisters Grimm is a very good book (I just finished it)!  I will admit that it’s more for the younger reader, but I really enjoyed the story and all that went on–it was a very exciting book, I thought! 🙂  I mean, who doesn’t enjoy fairy tales?!  Now I have started The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain.  I’ve only read two chapters so I don’t have much to say about it.  After that I’m going to read Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech.  I love books!

(Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte *yum*)

Well, it’s dinner time once more!  The day seems to come and go so quickly around here…maybe it’s just me.  I don’t have much to do so the time seems to pass by instead of linger around.  Have a good weekend.

(Cael and I…..we tried to smile) 🙂

~Jesus Calling Devotional~

I love you with an everlasting Love.  The human mind cannot comprehend my constancy.  Your emotions flicker and falter in the face of varying circumstances, and you tend to protect your fickle feelings onto Me.  Thus, you do not benefit fully from My unfailing Love.

You need to look beyond the flux of circumstances and discover Me gazing lovingly back at you.  This awareness of My Presence strengthens you, as you receive and respond to My Love.  I am the same yesterday, today, and forever!  Let My Love flow into you continually.  Your need for Me is as constant as the outflow of My Love to you.

“the Lord appeared to him from far away.  I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”  Jeremiah 31:3

“You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed; you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.”  Exodus 15:13

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8

It is fall!  Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day!  The weather was perfect!  And today  has been very nice as well, all though a little more overcast then yesterday was.

I hope that this week is a lovely one for you all and may the Lord bless this beautiful October!  Happy Fall, and much love.

It’s October

Well I will have to say that October is one of my favorite months of the year!  I love the beginning of fall when the weather is wonderful and the leaves slowing start changing colors, and it’s just so lovely all around!

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving though, which is in November not October, but Halloween isn’t too horrible…especially if you have a costume! 🙂

The past few days we have had workers at our house making the outside of our home look as good as new!  They pressure-washed it the first day, scraped the paint off that was chipping and made some new siding boards the second day, and today they repainted the porch and most of the white trim on the house!  It’s amazing what a little paint and some cleaning can do.  I mean, our house looks like it’s lost 5-10 years in age!  Ha ha! 🙂

I have to apologize for not posting anything on the last day of September or on October 1st!  It completely slipped my mind!  I haven’t necessarily been too busy, I just haven’t really had anything to post lately!  But now I am, so…moving on.

Nothing too thrilling has happened lately, so I don’t have much to say.  Truly though I am excited about this marvelous fall season!  It’s my absolute favorite time of the year.  What should I be for Halloween?  (We don’t go trick-or-treating, but we like to dress up while we carve pumpkins!)  Does anyone have any ideas?  Let me know! 😀

Alright blog.  It’s dinner time for me, so as much as I’d like to stay and write more and more random things, my tummy’s going in circles over the smells in the kitchen!  Much love to you and I will write soon and hopefully have something to share! 🙂

Oh!!!  Here are my new moon pictures! 😉  Bye bye for now!
