Tea in the Morning

Good Morning!

Today I started my day with yoga, bible reading, and a cup of Lady Strawberry Tea from Korea.

Bessie sent me some tea for Christmas and BOY it smells good!

I love a nice cup of tea, especially on a cold winter morning.

Aside from my yummy tea, the devotion this morning from Jesus Calling and bible verses that were referenced were just what I needed.  I am always amazed at God’s greatness whenever I read that devotion because it almost never fails to be just exactly what I need to hear or be reassured of!  Today went along with yesterdays message at church, actually, which was related to a lot of stuff I’ve been thinking about lately!

“Trust Me with every fiber of your being!  What I can accomplish in and through you is proportional to how much you depend on Me.  One aspect of this is the degree to which you trust Me in a crisis or major decision.  Some people fail miserably here, while others are at their best in tough times.  Another aspect is even more telling: the constancy of your trust in Me.  People who rely on Me in the midst of adversity may forget about me when life is flowing smoothly.  Difficult times can jolt you into awareness of your need for Me, whereas smooth sailing can lull you into the stupor of self-sufficiency.

I care as much about your tiny trust-steps through daily life as your dramatic leaps of faith.  You may think that no one notices, but the One who is always beside you sees everything–and rejoices.  Consistently trusting in Me is vital to flourishing in My Presence.”

Psalm 40:4; 56:3-4; 62:8

Isaiah 26:3-4

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts you…”

How many times will I hear, how many times will I remind myself, and how many times will I encourage others to trust in the Lord with ALL your heart, leaning not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6)?!  It is so simple and it is written over and over again in the bible to trust in our heavenly Father and to have faith!  O ye of little faith (Matthew 6:30; 8:26)!  My eyes are being opened to the realization of how great God is and how much He cares about us; you and me, and how simple it really and truly is to trust in him!  We just have to choose to do it!

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation.  But take heart; I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

How can you not trust that!  So, I think I’ve gotten some point across.  I encourage you to trust in Him and to not fear or be anxious (Isaiah 41:10).  Who’s with me?

Have a wonderful and blessed day and a great week as we venture into a new year!

Lord, guide us safely and be with us.  Prepare us for what lays ahead and equip us to do your will in this world and in our lives, Father.  Thank you for the sunshine today and the wonderful beginning to a lovely day you have given me.  I love you and in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!

Much love,

Ultimate Gift

“6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore.  The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.”  Isaiah 9:6-7

Hello!  I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and remembered the true meaning of Christmas; not Santa Claus or receiving presents or eating a big dinner or watching Christmas movies, but the true and absolute gift of them all, God’s Son who was born in Bethlehem and who has given us the chance of Salvation and living in eternity with the King of kings!

It is so fun to give and receive gifts for Christmas.  A way to look at gifts and presents on Christmas is to think about how God gave us the ultimate gift and wise men gave Jesus gifts when he was a baby, precious gifts, so I am not against gifts at all.  We can get so wrapped up (no pun intended) in gift giving and receiving though and often forget why Christmas is even a holiday!  It is the celebration of Christ Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.  That is Christmas!

So, as you woke up, opened gifts, shared smiles and laughter and made new memories I hope you took the time to acknowledge our Lord and Savior and wish him a very happy birthday and praises due his name.  He is so good and he is so worth it.

If you’re still in the giving mood I encourage you to smile at people, open the door for someone, compliment a friend, pray for someone on your mind, or help someone else in some way.  I too need to remember to do these things and think more selflessly and more Christ-like.

Thank you, Lord, for everything; for my family and my friends and total strangers who return a smile.  Thank you for this holiday season and the excitement and fun we all had.  Thank you for your provision and protection, Father.  Thank you most of all for your son, Jesus, who was sent to earth and who died for our sins so that we could be saved to live eternally with you, God!  I love you and I thank you for your love, joy and peace.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Happy Holidays everyone!  They are all coming to an end and a new year is about to begin!  I can’t even believe it!!  This is a quick post (but at least a post!) but I just wanted to share my thoughts for the evening.  Well, much love and until next time.

Oh wait…look at this little boy!

He is getting SO big!  Titus James!

Red, White and Green

Christmas time is here!  Thanksgiving is gone, lots of birthdays have passed, lots are coming, and lots of time has past especially since I have last posted, and life in general is just passing.  On that note…

Dear Jennafifi, I’m alive!  I can’t say we’ve had a great year of blogging because I really haven’t at all this year, but that’s ok.  There are so many posts that I started and a lot of things I wanted to share, but when I had time to do it I guess I wanted to do something else more.  I’ve missed blogging this year though!

So, it’s Christmas Eve!  Wow!  Why has this year seemed to zoom by faster then anything?!  I usually can’t remember last Christmas by the time it comes around again, but I remember Christmas 2013 pretty clearly!  Everything I’ve been involved with, every event, every person, etc, has all just phased me and then swoosh, it’s gone hardly leaving a mark to remember.  Can anyone relate?  I hardly remember anything I’ve done this year because it has just cruised on by.

I feel like the past few times I’ve posted it has been more serious or just me trying to organize my crazy thoughts.  There is just so much on my mind and at the same time I don’t really think about anything!  Makes no sense.  Anyway.  I won’t go on and on about my thoughts, sorry guys.

Santa Claus is coming tonight, oh my gosh!  Santa has already come to Korea to see our dear family there!  It’s Christmas morning in Korea as I type this.  It has been so busy in my life lately.  I have been so exhausted since this summer; I feel like I could use a good hibernation.  I can’t believe, truly, that it’s Christmas and that the Miller’s have been across the sea for five months!

Well, I know I haven’t been on here in a while and this post was pretty short, but I have things to do before the morning and a Skype meeting with the Korean folks to attend to, so may your day be merry and bright, and may all your Christmases be red, green, and white!  Merry Christmas, much love and I might as well say Happy New Year!  Crazy…

God Bless!
