A Poetry Prayer

Lord, I thank you for this day,
For every opportunity I have to pray.
Thank you for the spring flowers that bloom,
Thank you for the warm sun in June.
Thank you for the crisp autumn air,
Thank you for the winter snow everywhere.

Father, I come to you today,
Humbled, on my knees, as I pray.
I ask you this, if I may,
To guide and protect me through each day.
Help me choose appropriately,
What I should do, say and believe.
Open my eyes when I am wrong,
Show me where I am weak and where I am strong.

Help me know your every word,
That I may speak Your truth and be heard.
Allow my life to be a part
Of the light others find within their hearts.
Use my mistakes and lessons learned
To influence others so they, in turn,
May choose differently and help even more
Then I could have ever helped on my own before.

God, Creator, Father and Son.
Spirit, Comforter, Healer; the only One.
First and the Last, Beginning and the End.
Thank you, sweet Jesus, for being my friend!
Thank you for loving me when I feel alone,
For encouraging, supporting, and providing me a home.
A home that is promised for eternity
When I opened my heart and said “I believe”.

I gave you my heart, my very life,
As you gave us yours as THE sacrifice.
The love you portrayed I will never lose sight,
And no matter what happens, I’ll endure the fight.
I will fight for you and the truth of your Word,
And through my tiny being may YOU be heard!
The most important decision to this day,
Was choosing to love you as you love me.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Your kingdom come, Your will be done, forever, Amen.

–A poem my Jennifer Barger (2017)

Thank you, Lord for this day,

for everything that hasn’t gone my way.

Thank you for my family,

the ones who truly love me,

thank you for the sounds we hear

that bring such joy to our ear.

Thank you for the sun and the moon

and the cold winter weather that will be here soon.

Thank you for holidays filled with joy

for the meaning of Christmas, which is not about toys.

Thank you for Jesus who came to save,

and was born years ago on a Christmas day.

Thank you for everything you have done,

thank you again for sending your Son.

I love you, Father, and this I pray,

that we may love and thank you every single day.

Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope it was a wonderful day for you and your loved ones.  Have a blessed and safe weekend and Merry Christmas time!!  It’s already here!

Much love,

October Farewells

(not my photography)

October, why are you leaving so soon?  You only just arrived!  *sigh*

It’s the end of October; one day left!  Halloween.

Costumes, candy, spooky and scary

Pumpkins that are glowing and nobody knowing

When the howling wolf will stop it’s howling

As the Harvest Moon fades from the sky

Haunted houses, forests and trees

Someones scream vanishing with the breeze

The haunted eve draws to an end

Remember deary, don’t trust even your friend

Random poem!  Just wrote it while I was sitting here wishing to be out in the sunshine!  It’s been raining and rain in October is not fun.  Oh well.

So my younger sister and I are making fairy wings for Halloween.  Yes, we are going to be fairies.  We’re going almost all out.  The wing making process has been slow and HOPEFULLY we’ll get them finished by tomorrow!  We’ve never really done much for Halloween.  It’s a holiday our family celebrates with candy, pumpkin carving, fun and games and dress up and usually we stay home!  I remember when I was younger we would go to a church on Halloween and play games, but I enjoy the past few years we’ve stayed home and hung out.

November, although I hate to be welcoming you this soon, welcome.  I wonder what you have in store for us.  I pray for joy, peace, God’s guidance in life and for time to be spent wisely.  Amen! 🙂

I am slowly in the process of publishing the rest of my pixie journey and some other things as well.  Also stay tuned to Jennafifi Photography because I will be posting some more work there.  Also I want to start some tutorial posts like crafts that I’ve achieved and cooking too!  We’ll see…I’ve been kind of lazy with my blogging.

Have a lovely and safe weekend.  Don’t eat too much candy!

BOO-Bye!!! 🙂

Wednesday Wishes…

Sometimes I wish I didn’t think so much…

Sometimes I wish I’d think more before I speak…

Sometimes I wish I was traveling the world; or at least the US…

Sometimes I wish I could just be home for a whole week…

Sometimes I wish for the rain to never leave…

Sometimes I wish for the sun to always stay…

Sometimes I wish I knew what to eat…

Sometimes I wish I never had to eat again…

Sometimes I wish God would blatantly show me the way…

Sometimes I wish ignorance never faded…

I use to wish for everything, and everything was for me.  All of my wishes were self-centered or wished in times of despair.  I turned my wishes into prayers and the selfishness started to fade, and instead of praying in times of trouble only, I’ve started praying in times of utter joy and happiness with thanksgiving.  There are plenty of times when I pray out of desperation, and lots of times I pray for selfish things, but I have learned that God is good, so good, and that I never have to worry as long as I go to Him for everything.

Today I learned and realized some important, eye opening, things: When you surrender your life to Him, Christ, everything else will come…surrendering your life doesn’t mean God will send you to Africa…He will make your ministry from where you are in life and by what you love doing, and He will give you the desires of your heart; and will, for the better, change those desires…and, when it comes to finding the right guy/girl, when you live for Christ and do the things you love, as you grow and mature and are unknowingly being prepared, He will lead your significant other into your life at the perfect time…you never have to worry.

“fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

Raindrops come fall down on my head

Show me how to let go

As you fall I see my burdens heavy

And they make me tremble

As thunder roars and lightening flashes

There is a peaceful silence all around

That silence is the Lord thy God

As raindrops fall to the the ground…

Have a wonderful evening and a blessed rest of the week!  Much love.

Thank You

Thank you to all of the men and women who have fought and are fighting still and who have given their lives for America.  Thank you for your sacrifice.  Thank you to those I know personally who have served for their country.

Our country is taken for granted.  America is an amazing blessing ans gift and we have lost sight of that.  Lord, forgive us!  Thank you for your blessings and gifts that truly we do not deserve.  Be with these men and women and keep them strong, provided for and bless them, Lord, with your peace and hope and love.  God bless America!  Amen.

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

A Note to All the Mothers

1 Peter 3:4 “but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”

Dear Mothers,

Let me start with a many thanks.

Thank you for the love you share.  Thank you for every care that you care!  Thank you for being there, especially when we are scared.

Thank you for your big warm hugs.  Thank you for protecting us from all sorts of bugs!  Thank you for the wisdom you speak, and for every tear you wipe off of our cheeks.

This is a note to tell you how truly grateful I am that you’re around.

To my mother I say, I love you more and more each and every day!  No matter what I go through or if I push you away, I love you because you always stay anyway.

You are there for me when I need a ride, and there when I am hurting inside.  The things you have taught me I cherish so and am ever so grateful that I get to know.

Mother, you have given me freedom to do the things that I love, and the ability to know myself and to seek the Lord above.  You lead me to Him when I go astray, and I thank you for all the times you have prayed, for me to come to Him in trouble or pain or even happiness and joy, whatever decides to rain.  And then you are gracious to except my advice when you feel discouraged and there are tears in your eyes.

I love you so much, and these simple little words, cannot truly express that you are the best mother in the world!

To each his own, as they say. 🙂

God bless you mothers, and Happy Mothers Day!

June Tunes

~A Tune for June~

It is June, it is June, there’s a big bright moon, and plenty of humidity

I long for warm days, but when they finally arrive they’re much too warm for me.

I sit all day by a revolving fan trying to reduce my sweat

Waiting and wishing with all of my heart for the warm summer sun to set.

The ideal dream is to be by the sea shore all golden and tan,

but then I awake and realize how troublesome it is to deal with all of that sand!

It is so hot and there’s not much to do so why not go to the pool?

I later notice that I got a nice sunburn and long to be somewhere cool.

Although it is nice to not have to wear heavy coats and sweater’s

I still prefer cooler days to this very humid and hot weather.

What do you prefer?  Hot or cold?  Or are you more of an in-between?

I won’t judge you if you like best the warm summer days that have been.

~Poem by Jennifer L. Barger~

There you go!  Now you know how I feel about the summer weather…not too highly!  I went outside a few days ago when it was really sunny and hot and just yesterday recovered all the way from, I guess, getting a little overheated.  I am just really sensitive to the heat and it reaches my head really quickly, especially if I haven’t stayed on top of drinking water and doing some exercise.  Ugh!

The poem above isn’t amazing, but it popped into my head last night so I wanted to share it!  So far our summer has been wet and humid and sort of miserable, when you’re outside that is.  Other wise it has been a pretty good, lazy (which isn’t that good) summer, but it is flying by way too fast!  110 miles per hour too fast!  Or so it seems…

So the next two weeks we are babysitting my niece, and so far it has been going very well.  I have a lot of cute pictures to share, so I will load them and post them throughout the next couple weeks.  It will be a fun fourteen days! 🙂

Well, it is time to turn off the computer and get ready for some sleep.  So many things have been going through my head lately and I keep getting discouraged from posting on my blog, but hopefully that will change.  It is time to get back on track with things…way past time.

God bless and have a wonderful rest of this week!  I hope June has been a great month for everyone and that the rain will soon subside, even though I don’t enjoy the hot sun, it still would be nice to see the sunshine in the summertime.
