Happy Easter To You!

(So, I just thought I’d post a little Easter post since I will be busy this weekend)

~*~*~*~

Happy Easter (early)!

We dyed some Easter eggs the other day, and all though it got out of hand a few times, it was fun and we got some pretty eggs! 🙂

IMG_0761

Lots of green eggs…Skylar made red egg dye which turned out pretty awesome!  (I think you can see some red eggs in this picture.)

IMG_0766

My sister, Sarah, made these earrings for me for my birthday last year and she just got them all finished yesterday!  If you can tell, there is a little light green colored bead at the top.  My “Easter dress” is that green color so I plan on wearing these lovely earrings for Easter!  *Thank you Sarah*

I’m very glad that the weather has been sunny the past three days, even though today is the only day I have been able to go out and enjoy it!  Sadly though, it will be gloomy and rainy tomorrow and it’s suppose to rain all day on Easter!  Oh well!  We’ll have an egg hunt inside I guess! 😉

~*~*~*~

Well, I hope your weekend is lovely and I hope your Easter is blessed!  Remember Christ is risen.  He died for our sins and has risen again!  Thank you Lord for the Salvation you offer and have given to us!

Much love and God bless,

Jenny~

P.S. Please enjoy these Easter videos!  They are clips from the 1948 film “Easter Parade” with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire.  Great movie! 🙂

God is SO Good

Jesus’ Calling from yesterday, March 24th.

“This is a time in your life when you must learn to let go: of loved ones, of possessions, of control.  In order to let go of something that is precious to you, you need to rest in My Presence, where you are complete.  Take time to bask in the Light of My Love.  When you relax more and more, your grasping hand gradually opens up, releasing your prized possessions into My care.

You can feel secure, even in the midst of cataclysmic changes, through awareness of My continual Presence.  The One who never leaves you is the same One who never changes: I am the same yesterday, today, and forever.  As you release more and more things into My care, remember that I never let go of your hand.  Herein lies your security, which no one and no circumstance can take from you.”

Psalm 89:15 “Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face…”

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Isaiah 41:13 “For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not,
I am the one who helps you.’ “

~*~*~*~

Even though that was the devotion from yesterday I wanted to post it because I forgot to yesterday and because I really liked what it was about! 🙂  We hold onto so many things of the past, whether it’s a loss of a loved one, something that went wrong, or even someone’s past attitude towards us.  We all need to know that it is okay to let go, to forgive, to love again, so trust in the Lord to take our past and present things (and future) into His care!

I hope this new week brings you much peace and may your day be lovely!  It’s still overcast and windy and cold here…oh well!  God bless,

Jenny~

Surprising

WOW!  It is so COLD outside today!  I was very surprised at how FREEZING it is!  (I got all dressed in my capris and a short sleeved shirt to go out and enjoy the WARM weather, but it is not warm!)

Well, enjoy this cold day! 😛

God bless,

Jenny~

Spring is Here!

Although today is not as bright and sunny as I had hoped it would be, spring time is upon us! 🙂

All of the flowers are in bloom!  Whether just blossoms are fulling blooming, they are all beautiful!

March 20th (today) is the OFFICIAL first day of Spring!!!

IMG_0432 - Copy 3  IMG_0435 - Copy 4

We got two peach trees and the flowers on them are beautiful!  I have been taking way more pictures of them then I need.

IMG_0505 - Copy 5

We also have a few yellow crocuses that are growing in the garden.  I have never seen a yellow crocus before!  Usually we have the purple and white ones.

IMG_0540 6

I was very glad that it was sunny and warm yesterday because I really wanted to take some pictures with the sun out!  It’s so hard to get a good picture of flowers when it’s gloomy out.

IMG_0553 - Copy 7  IMG_0556 8

Spring weather is the perfect weather.  Not too cold not too hot, warm and sunny, nice shade and breeze…*sigh*  I wish it was spring all year!

IMG_0545 - Copy 9

I guess I took too many pictures of the yellow crocuses too! 🙂

IMG_0549 10

The puppies are getting bigger and bigger and closer and closer to going to their new homes!  *Yay*  They are very cute, but it’s always nice to have the peace and quiet back when the puppies are gone.

IMG_0565 - Copy 11

We have a lot of fruit bearing plants this year.  Blueberries, peaches, strawberries, and our apple trees which we’ve had for a LONG time!  I’m excited to (hopefully) harvest a lot of yummy fruits!

IMG_0566 - Copy 12  IMG_0567 - Copy 13

A heart! 😀  I like these pictures.

IMG_0568 - Copy 14

Since the weather has been so lovely recently, my siblings and I have been outside roller blading a lot!  We love to roller blade!

IMG_0571 15

Isn’t it amazing how delicate and pretty the flowers are?  Some people might not care much, but flowers are just so pretty!  I thank the Lord for giving us beautiful flowers to look at!  Just one more marvelous thing from His imagination.

There have been a lot of babies at our house lately!  Bessie and Evvie spent the weekend with us, and it was weird when Evvie was taking a nap or sleeping because we, or I, am not used to having a sleeping baby in the house anymore where you have to be quiet!  Anyway…it was fun to have those two stinkers here. 😉

Titus came over a few days ago and was absolutely overjoyed to see Uncle John! 🙂

IMG_0396

He’s getting too big for his own good!  Already starting to sit up all by himself.  I can’t believe he’s half a year old!?!

IMG_0398

So cute!  (John needs a haircut!)

IMG_0401   IMG_0404

What precious boys!  I don’t even know how to say how grateful I am to be an Aunt to such lovely babies.

IMG_0415

Mr.T was also very excited to see the puppies!  It was so adorable seeing him react to all of the wiggly, crazy, puppies!

IMG_0421

And here he is all ready to go home and smiling at his mommy! 😉

~*~*~*~

Well, it seems like the sun might decide to show itself after all!  I have to get going with some stuff though, so I hope you’ve enjoyed this post!  May you enjoy the lovely spring weather, and may the spring weather stick around for a while!

(Gracious shoved her face in my camera!)

God bless, and much love.

Jenny~

P.S. Please leave a comment telling me which flower picture(s) is your favorite. I’m entering a contest and am having a hard time deciding…these are just a few of the pictures I’m trying to decide from.  Thank you! 😀  (There is a number by each picture to make is easier.)

Happy Flowers

Jesus’ Calling, March 14th, 2013

“Do not hesitate to receive Joy from Me, for I bestow it on you abundantly.  The more you rest in My Presence, the more freely My blessings flow into you.  In the Light of My Love, you are gradually transformed from glory to glory.  It is through spending time with Me that you realize how wide and long and high and deep is My Love for you.

Sometimes the relationship I offer you seems too good to be true.  I pour My very Life into you, and all you have to do is receive Me.  In a world characterized by working and taking, the admonition to rest and receive seems too easy.  There is an intricate connection between receiving and believing: As you trust Me more and more, you are able to receive Me and My blessings abundantly.  Be still, and know that I am God.”

2 Corinthians 3:18; Ephesians 3:17-19; Psalm 46:10

~*~*~*~

Yesterday I brought my beautiful pansies outside and set them on the lovely sunny/shady corner of the porch!  They are so beautiful and every time I look at them I feel so happy! 🙂

IMG_0152

I don’t know why they make me happy, but they do.  Pansies are my favorite flower.  I also LOVE holly-hocks and bleeding hearts.

IMG_0155

There are so many new blooms and buds on my pansy plant(s).  Skylar got three or four plants and put them all together in a pot.

IMG_0156

Tuesday and yesterday, and I’m happy to say today as well, have been lovely weather!  The rain on Monday was discouraging, but I am so happy that it has been sunny and bright, and although a little chilly, very beautiful!

IMG_0157

Well, I am going to run some errands with my mom now, so I will post something else soon!  Enjoy this lovely day.  I hope there is much happiness and joy in it for everyone.

God bless,

Jenny~

Hair Bow!

Yesterday I made a hair bow! 🙂

IMG_0094

I watched a video on how to make some hair accessories so I thought I’d try it out because I just so happened to have some fabric on hand!  I meant to take some step-by-step pictures, but I forgot while I was making it, so below there is the tutorial video that I watched for anyone who’s interested.

IMG_0096

It turned out very nicely!  I wore it yesterday. 😉

IMG_0105

I made it a little smaller then the girl in the video made hers and it’s a good size!  Not too huge or anything.

IMG_0112   IMG_0113

They are really fun to make, if you like bows, and easy too!  I substituted most of the hot glue with a needle and some thread just because I thought it would probably last longer if you sewed it rather then hot-glued it!  (The tutorial starts at 1 minutes and 50 seconds, and ends around 4:34…the girl talks a lot!)

IMG_0132

Skylar got me some pansies a few days ago!  I need to bring them outside.  They make me very happy! 😀

IMG_0134

Aren’t they pretty?!

~*~*~*~

Well that’s all I have to share right now!  I’m so happy that the weather is nice today so far!  The rain made me sad yesterday after having such lovely weather last week.  Much love and God bless.

Book Review: Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech

220px-SharonCreech_RubyHoller

Let me start by saying that Sharon Creech is an author who’s work I thoroughly enjoy.  One of my favorite books of hers, and favorite read in general, is Chasing Redbird.  The story is so good and weird and almost realistic in a very unrealistic way, if that makes sense! 🙂

With that said, the other day I finished reading one of Ms.Creech’s books called Ruby Holler, and I will have to say that I was quite disappointed with it!  The book is about twins, Dallas (brother) and Florida (sister), and they are orphans.  They live at the Boxton Creek Home which is a small orphanage owned by a couple named the Trepids who don’t particularly like children (sounds interesting so far).  The twins have a history of being troublesome at their adopted homes, so more then once families who have taken them in have brought them back to the Home because they were “trouble twins”, as they are more commonly referred.

As the book progresses, they finally get adopted by an older couple, Tiller and Sairy, who are very excited to have kids again (well, Sairy is.  Not so much Tiller at first, but he likes them pretty quickly).  Their kids have grown up and gotten married and moved away.  The older couple lives in a small cabin with no electricity and that cabin is located in Ruby Holler which is a lovely piece of property out in the middle of nowhere and has been owned by Tiller’s family for many years.  The twins are very reluctant at first and they assume that Tiller and Sairy will bring them back to the Home because of the trouble they seem to make everywhere else, but they are surprised to find out that Tiller and Sairy really enjoy their company, are willing to be patient and kind to them, and wish them both to stay at the holler.

A few different characters pop in and out of the book and the chapters go back and forth from Ruby Holler and the Boxton Creek Home.  Mr.Trepid is the “bad guy” of the book, shall we say, and he finds out that the older couple has a stash of money hidden somewhere under some stones in the holler, so he hires a man named Z to help him locate it, not knowing that Z is a decent friend of Sairy and Tiller’s and is also their closet neighbor since the holler is not exactly near civilization.

Anyway.  The book wasn’t horrible, but it ended on a very strange note and it kind of leaves you hanging and thinking “Well, what’s going to happen to that guy?…How do they end up?” etc.  Sharon Creech is more of an odd author; she sometimes makes no sense whatsoever in her books, but she has some really great stories, and I enjoy her writing!  My favorites of her books are:  Chasing Redbird, The Wanderer, Absolutely Normal Chaos, and The Castle Corona.  Each of these books has some oddness to them, but I enjoy them and recommend them to anyone who wants to read something different.

Well, I am going to start a new book now and also get started on cleaning up my room.  I’m going to rearrange the furniture once again and hopefully it will turn out nice and maneuverable!  I hope the rest of this day is lovely for you all, and I hope everyone is getting used to daylight savings!  Yay! 🙂  I love daylight savings because it makes it easier for me to wake up earlier AND the days last longer!

(Look at that baby!  Oh my goodness!)

Much love and God bless!  I have more blog posts coming soon, so stay tuned.
